Our
childcare approach
The primary aim of Daisy Chain Nursery is
to develop and build upon the existing qualities and skills of
all children under our care.
Our
nursery places great emphasis on creating a happy and stable
environment in which you can leave your children in complete confidence.
Our
specific aims are to:
-
Provide a safe, happy and stimulating
environment for your child
-
Provide the highest quality child-care
for working parents
-
Encourage an early love of learning
through play
-
Gently prepare your child for school with
pre-school activities
-
Work towards the Early Learning Goals for
children's learning
We try to offer flexibility wherever
possible, and children can either attend full-time or part-time.
The nursery operates an equal opportunities
policy, and all children, adults and staffs are treated as individuals,
taking into account all religious, ethnic, cultural, and other
preferences and origins.
Certificates
of Achievement
At Daisy Chain Nursery, we believe in
rewarding the children for their achievements as this helps build their
confidence.
If your child paints a good picture or
behaves well during lunch for example, we will reward them with one of
our 'Well Done’ certificates, which they can take home and pin
up. We have found this is an excellent way to reward achievement and
promote good behaviour.

Quality
Counts
Accredited
- NDNA
We are 'Quality Counts' accredited by the
National Day Nursery Association. We have recently received Level 3 Accreditation, one of only a
few nurseries in West Yorkshire to have this accreditation.
The ratings are -
Level 1- indicates a level
of quality above national standards
Level 2 - indicates a high level of quality
Level 3 - indicates an
exceptional level of quality
Quality Counts is the
leading independently assessed quality assurance scheme, specifically
designed for group child daycare, and acts as an indicator of quality,
over and above the national standards. Nurseries that are doing
this scheme illustrate their commitment to delivering a high quality
service. e-Quality counts is a voluntary scheme based on a set of
rigorous standards that nurseries have to demonstrate they meet in
order to receive the award, and shows that nurseries are working hard
to constantly develop the care they offer.

We continually strive to develop our own
skills and abilities.
-
We value diversity.
Our
history
Daisy Chain Nursery was founded in 1997 by Claire
Heslop
and her family when they purchased and then converted Daisy Cottage,
which was formerly a residential home, into a dedicated childcare
facility.
Claire had previously
been Manager at another nursery in Yorkshire, after having been trained
at Princess Christian nursery nurse school. She has also been a nanny
in Knightsbridge, London.
