Our activities for children

Children learn through play.

At Daisy Chain, we offer a large variety of both indoor and outdoor activities.

These include drawing and painting, sand, water, role-play, construction activities, storytelling sessions, music and sing-a-longs.

All children are encouraged to try new skills, as well as developing the ones they already have.

In our 2010 Ofsted inspection, the summary report concluded "The Early Years Foundation Stage" is met extremely well overall. Children's individual needs are met highly effectively through excellent planning and review systems to support all children in the setting. This ensures children progress effectively with their learning, and in some areas of learning their progress is excellent.

Our nursery nurses and other carers regularly attend training in these specific areas, and therefore are able to implement new ideas and requirements.

Further details about these areas and activities offered are available in the nursery and through discussion with the staff members and are clearly displayed in the nursery units.

Daisy Chain also has a large secure outdoor play area where children can enjoy safe and supervised play in a pleasant environment.

To the rear of the nursery is a small orchard where the children can develop their understanding of the natural world, as well as our sensory garden.
